The image below is of a girl leaning her head forward over a wooden stall, it's obvious to see she is bleeding. Her hair is covering her face and her hands are positioned near her eyes which suggests she is crying. Her long hair is draped over the stall drawing you to the reflection in the blood. The picture is very dark and attracts a lot of curiousity because of the attention to detail and the strong colours used creating a very powerful image.

Herring and Herring - Lucia Graham
My client feels inspired by Herring and Herring's tribal collection and would like her collection to portray a buzzy, vibrant feel. Herring and Herring is a collaboration between Dimitri Scheblanov and Jasper Carlsen enagaging in fashion photography and art direction, their clients include Debeers, Gucci, Philip Crangi, Born the Best, Alvin Valley and many others. The fashion student who I have been closely working with, Lucia Graham is designing a tribal collection targeted at men. This morning I have briefly spoken with her as we have scheduled a shoot this coming Friday and here are some ideas she has for how she'd like her pieces to be shown.

Magazine Layout Designs
I think it’s important for a reader to understand what is going on, on the page in front of them. Some page layouts do not include any text and keep the page focused on the photographs but some layouts do include text to inform what is going on the page. Personally when I flick through journals or magazines I do prefer to see big prints with minimal text because I find I like to make my own judgement about what I see in front of me and not what somebody else wrote. It allows me to think more freely about the subject that I am viewing however I also think having text included in the layout design is informative for the reader and helps promote the designer with their name, brand and contact details.
